See Inside Lil Wayne’s $17 million Floating Mansion In Miami.

The aim is to make this house sound as though it’s floating on space. All begins with the pool that resembles a moat that you must pass to get to the front door — concrete stairs that seem to emerge from the blue waters — and once within, moving walls find it difficult to know where the outside begins and where the inside finishes. The ten-room house went for $16.75 per square foot. A close-up of the backyard is seen above to illustrate how the builder used it. It has a surface area of 110 feet and is 10,472 square feet.

Now that you’ve got the concept, here’s a shot of the front door and the same floating steps (it’s difficult to see what’s going on at first glance since the front door is too far to the left, thus the pool photo). You’ll also note the Ipe wood is already being used as an accent piece in homes.

Architect Choeff Levy Fischereman also planned Lil Wayne’s former home in La Gorce Circle, which sold for $10 million in June of last year. This time, Lil Wayne has selected a more isolated location: Allison Island, an 8.5-acre bridge-accessible island off the coast of Miami Beach. This is smack dab in the center of the river.
